Diamond Park Khaleesi

Discipline - Showing

SIRE : Passmaster Hanover
DAM: Hollys Delight

Diamond Park Khaleesi trialled but was too slow and was offered to Diamond Park Standardbreds to be used as a show horse. In the start of her show career she made a strong impact winning many broad sashes and titles as a led horse. She then started her saddle career and won the 1st Harness Racing NSW Off the Track Series. After teaming with Trainer/Coach and Show Rider Rachel she has held the title of Australian National Highpoint Performance Horse of the season and State Grand Champion Ridden Exhibit at State Titles. Career highlight was winning 1st Place at Sydney Royal 2019. We look forward to seeing their progress in the dressage and open rings.

Mark Glendenning

Glenbawn Star

Discipline: Show Harness

SIRE:Muscle Hill USA

DAM: Sunny Elegant

Mark has been in Harness racing all his life ad works at HRNSW. He saw Star when he was with a trainer and liked him, asking the trainer to keep him in mind when he retired him. Fortunately for Mark he wasn't successful as a racehorse and came to live with Mark. He started him with lots of ground work, long reining and slow work in the cart.

Mark and Star have already taken some big titles in the show harness ring, winning state supreme show harness horse and grand champion harness horse at State Championships early in 2020. We look forward to seeing their progress in the year to come.

I have owned Louie for 2 years now. I had been wanting a Standardbred for some time, and when I saw him on a Facebook site I knew he was the one. In the time I've had Louie he has been such a gentleman, so eager to learn and happy to try new things. We have been to some training days, tried the show ring, and done some jumping but endurance seems to be what he and I enjoy most. The easygoing atmosphere at endurance events, along with the joy of camping with your pony makes for a great weekend away. Our plans for the year and onwards are to complete as many 40km rides as possible, improving on our completion times, and maybe even progressing to the longer rides.

I’ve been watching and helping with Toohey’s training since his first ride, learning how to train him to be a ridden horse under the watchful tutor-age of Ashley Burns (Raise the Standard, Wollombi in the Hunter Valley). He’s always tried his hardest to please, giving his most at all things and loving his new chance at life. I’m a year 9 student who has been riding for a few years on an old 14hh mare who gave me a lot of confidence, but not really what I needed to progress further, which Toohey has helped me to do. We love getting out to pony club and competitions, seeing other people and showing them what we can do. Cross-country is definitely a favourite for us. I’ve fallen in love with his, and the other Standardbreds I’ve worked with, kind and giving nature and I can’t wait to see how we progress over the next year and I aim to be a great ambassador for the association.
